The World Cup 2014 tournament is live with a stream on the radio Tuesday as Colombia and Japan play in Brazil and the match is live from Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba at 4 pm ET as COL is through from Group C and are looking to clinch the top spot in the draw from their set as they play this game along with Ivory Coast and Greece.
Colombia won both of their group games and were one of the most consistent teams over the first week of the tourney and now they have a chance to win the group heading into the knockout stage. Colombia has played very well and 22 year old star James Rodriguez has been one of the key players and if he can continue moving along at this rate, the team should be able to go deep in the tournament.
Japan is not one of the more exciting teams in the tournament, but their fans are clean at least and they cleaned up after themselves in Brazil and now the team is hoping to have a great performance to get to the next stage. The team needs a great game here and that will be tough against a team that has played well and Keisuke Honda will be key for his team, as he had a goal against Ivory Coast and he needs to play well fi the team wants to advance, which they did back in 2010 in South Africa.
Colombia is led by Jose Pekerman and his team can win all three group matches with a victory here and that would clinch the group and they have been a very strong team here in Brazil and Rodriguez has been one of the main reasons why. Rodriguez has scored in the last two games and they were very important against Greece and the Ivory Coast and now the Colombian side has the chance to finish off Japan.
The Japanese team played a 0-0 scoreless game against Greece that was nothing but boredom for everyone and this game is essential for Japan to have any chance to stay alive in the tournament. The Tuesday schedule already had its fair share of drama, as Luis Suarez was caught biting another player and now he could face punishment from FIFA for doing that against Italy. Uruguay advanced and once again a controversial play from Suarez helped his team get by, as he also had that controversial play with the hand ball save years go in the last World Cup that left him with a red card.
Before the tournament many thought a wild card team like Japan or Colombia could come out of Group C and now the Colombians have shown they are more than just a dark horse. The team is no favorite yet, but they are right there with other teams as Brazil, Argentina and the Netherlands are considered to be the strongest left. The Colombian side has the chance to win all three games and that would be a very big accomplishment, while teams like the United States and Germany are hoping to make it out of the group of death and into the next stage and the round of 16 knockouts.
