The PGA Tour 2014 schedule heads to Congressional for the Quicken Loans National tournament and Tiger Woods is returning to action after a long layoff from injury and this will be in Washington DC following his back surgery and it looks like he will be ready for the Open Championship later this summer after missing the first majors of the year and that will be at Royal Liverpool for the British Open.

Woods is back in action after being on the shelf for three months and he said he will be rusty coming back to the golf course and he will be looking to just play a good round on Thursday to open things up. Woods has won the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool before and that is one reason why many have wondered whether he will return in time for that major. Woods said that he healed up quickly from the surgery and that he is feeling good and after many thought he may not return for the rest of the season, Woods is now back.

Woods has won 14 majors in his career and he has not won one in quite a while and now according to ESPN.com, he is ready to return after back surgery and he will open up at Congressional and then he plans on playing the British Open. Woods said that his goal was to come back for the Open Championship and this year it will be at Royal Liverpool and that is a place where he knows how to play and has won before. Woods also should be fine after for the PGA Championship and that major could be big for him as well as he tries to get things on the positive side after a tough year. Woods and his foundation has a connection to Quicken at Congressional and he said he likely would not have played if not for that and that he was aiming for the Open.

Woods had a great year last season before dealing with the issues this year, as he won three times ahead of the Masters and five times overall on the tour and that also gave him his number one world ranking back. Woods started off this season with some major struggles and a lot of that had to do with his back injury and he ended up needing surgery and now he is back and ready to go after being out for a few months and while he may be a bit rusty, if Tiger is healthy he could finally get back to his usual form. Woods has not won a major in years and everyone now will be looking at the last two on the schedule as the chance for him to get back on track and track down that all-time record.
