The World Cup is back live with Algeria and Russia in Group H and the match is live on ESPN2 and streaming with alive stream from WatchESPN and it will be from Arena da Baixada in Curitiba starting up at 4 pm ET and comes after the United States made it through to the knockout stage in Group G, aka the Group of death.
Russia is the next country to host the World Cup and they would like to get through and they need a win here or they are busted for the next stage, while Belgium is already through. The United States will play the winner of this group and that means it likely will be Belgium or Algeria and the two other teams need things to break their way hard to have a chance at getting through after the way they performed in the first two games.
Algeria has played well and they are behind Belgium's six points with three points of their own and the other two teams in Russia and South Korea have just one point a piece and thy need some help. Algeria has never been to the knockout stage and this would make history for them and the main reason was due to the fantastic game they played against South Korea. The team won 4-2 and that goal differential will likely help them through and they still are alive depending on how the games shake out to win the group, as that is still up for grabs.
Algeria had not won a World Cup match since the early 80s and now they are trying to move to the knockout stage and after losing to Belgium in their opening game they came back big against South Korea, who has been very disappointing in Brazil. Russia has Fabio Capello in as the coach and they always act like they are better than they actually are and they have not performed well ahead of hosting the 2018 World Cup and they still are alive and can advance to the next stage and they need a clear win to advance.
The United States is now through to the knockout stage for the second straight World Cup and they may get Jozy Altidore back for the next game and that could be against Algeria or Belgium. The team lost to Germany but won overall, as no one have them a chance to get out of the group of death and they have now done it. The US team needed Portugal to draw or win over Ghana by a certain score and after Cristiano Ronaldo broke the hearts of the Americans, he put the team through with a goal to give Portugal a 2-1 victory in the match.
The Russia Algeria match comes at the same time as the South Korea Belgium matchup and these are the final group games of the tournament. The knockout stage begins on Saturday and that has teams like Brazil, the Netherlands, France, Colombia, Argentina, Germany, the United States and Uruguay through to the round of 16.
