The NBA offseason is here and that means trade rumors will be going around the league and names like Kyrie Irving, LaMarcus Aldridge, Deron Williams, Kenneth Faried, Jeff Green, Greg Monroe and Jeremy Lin could get moved this offseason and teams like the Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets and NY Knicks could be among those making deals.
The Cavaliers likely are not trading Kyrie Irving under any circumstances after the team drafted Andrew Wiggins, but crazier things have happened in this league. According to ESPN.com, Irving was frustrated last season by all the talk about his future and whether he would stay in Cleveland or not and now the next big move for him will be a long-term deal. Irving is coming up to that point and if Cleveland doesn't show some improvement, he could follow LeBron and leave the city even after the team picked Wiggins.
The Trail Blazers have offered LaMarcus Aldridge a max deal and now it's up to him to decide whether to sign or not, as he could make more money on the free agent market. The Blazers can only offer him a certain amount based on the cap and with him coming off of his best season into his final contract year, he could leverage that for a bigger contract. Teams like the Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets have shown interest in Aldridge before and if Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James stay with their teams, those clubs could go after him.
Deron Williams could get moved this offseason and that comes after all the turmoil with Brooklyn right now, as Jason Kidd is on his way out after one season. The Bucks are working on compensation for him right now and Williams is coming off of surgery and a so-so year and that could lead to a trade as well. The Denver Nuggets have been looking into the Kevin Love trade and they could move Kenneth Faried in that deal if they opt to make a major move this offseason and he is coming up to the time when he will be in line for a new contract.
The Celtics could look at moving Jeff Green along with Kris Humphries or Jared Sullinger, while Greg Monroe is a restricted free agent and he could get traded as well. The Pistons have new management and with Andre Drummond and Josh Smith there, Monroe could be the one to go. The Bulls are chasing after James and Anthony and they could end up making one of these moves if they miss out on the big names and the same goes for the Rockets and Lakers. The Nets are in an odd situation with Kidd and now they could look at making trades as they try and build back the team for the playoffs.
The NBA is always drama in the summer and this year is shaping up once again to be that way and so far names like Tyson chandler and Omer Asik have already been traded and the Atlanta Hawks have also started making deals.
