In 2008, the Detroit Lions did the unthinkable. They accomplished what no one else had been able to before: nothing. With an 0-16 record, Detroit sunk down to the uncharted depths of the NFL.
Today, the Lions have reportedly signed Jim Schwartz to a multi-year contract. Schwartz took the helm in 2009 and in '11 guided the team to a 10-6 record and a second place finish in the NFC North. The Lions returned to the playoffs for the first time since the turn of the millennium but had the misfortune of facing Drew Brees at home during the Wildcard Matchup.
Behind Schwartz, the Lions added iconic players. Matthew Stafford and Ndamukong Suh were brought to the club under Schwartz's tenure. On Schwartz's watch, Calvin Johnson has played his way onto the EA Sports Madden 13 cover with 3,785 yards receiving in three years.
