Italy coach Cesare Prandelli is confident his side can solve the Spain puzzle and lift the Euro 2012 title.
Prandelli claimed his players do not fear Spain and felt his side were better prepared to face the defending champions now than when they clashed in their opening group game, where the match finished 1-1.
"We are physically and mentally stronger than when we faced them in our opening game," Prandelli told reporters.
"We only have one day to prepare for this game but we will try to find Spain's weaknesses.
"They are the world and European champions and they are an example to everyone. But we have grown and we should not fear them.
"We have to have the strength to face them with ideas and quality."
Prandelli is aware of Spain's qualities and admitted Spain would start favorites. "Spain will go into the game as favourites.
"They've been working on this for many years and have dominated every single contest. They are a brilliant side."
That will not stop the Italian coach, however, from picking out Spain's flaws and converting that into Italy's advantage. "I hope to be able to prepare in the best way possible for the match even if we only have a day to get ready.
"We will look for Spain's weak points and work on those areas, even if it won't be easy because they are the world and European champions and here they are in the final again.
"That shows that their qualities aren't just in terms of technique but also on the level of morale and character.
"They are a reference point in many different ways but we have also improved with time."
Prandelli has converted the Italian side into winners, after the 2006 World champions endured a disappointing World Cup in South Africa two years ago. However, the 52-year-old said he would consider his future after the tournament ends on Sunday.
"I miss being out on the pitch more, but I have a great relationship with the federation.
"But the last two months have been very difficult.
"Later I will make my evaluation but I don't want to talk about that now, we will deal with that in three days time."
