Chandler Parsons Rumors: Houston Rockets Trade Off As Mavericks Sign Offer Sheet, Chris Bosh Free Agent Deal Option?

Chandler Parsons signed an offer sheet from the Dallas Mavericks and after a trade deal did not work out for the Houston Rockets, the team is now looking at whether to match the offer or not and as this goes on, the team is also looking to sign Chris Bosh to a max contract, as he is being held up by LeBron James.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Rockets now have three days to match the deal or let Parsons go, as a sign and trade is now off the table. The Minnesota Timberwolves are another team interested in Chandler Parsons this offseason and the team could try and acquire the Houston Rockets star in a trade for Kevin Love this summer if everything else falls through, according to a report in Yahoo Sports and teams like the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks are also interested in acquiring Parsons if they miss out on Carmelo Anthony in free agency.

The Rockets opted to make Parsons a restricted free agent this offseason rather than pick up his player option and try to sign him as an unrestricted free agent and that puts the team at risk of losing him. According to Yahoo Sports, the Wolves are interested in adding Parsons in a potential trade with the Houston Rockets if they opt to go after Kevin Love, who remains a target for the team along with Carmelo Anthony. The Golden State Warriors and Timberwolves talked a Love trade this offseason already and Klay Thompson was a name Minnesota wanted and that left GS split and put a stop to talks for now. Carmelo Anthony is a free agent target for the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks and those teams could also be interested in adding Parsons if Anthony stays in New York.

Love is the main trade target in the NBA this offseason and Parsons is one of the most intriguing free agents on the market since he is a restricted free agent. The Rockets want to keep him after developing him as a second round pick, but since he is an RFA, they may not be able to match an offer another team gives. Parsons is coming into the season after averaging 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and four assists last season and he played starter minutes and was a key part to the Houston run last year.

Love finished with 26 points per game this year and 12 rebounds and he ranked fourth in the league in scoring average and ended up 11th in the MVP voting. Love has turned into one of the best players in the league and he now is averaging 19 points and 12 rebounds for his career. The Knicks have an advantage at keeping Carmelo Anthony since they can give him the most money and years, but it's no guarantee that he will stay and if he does leave, the team could look at a Love trade as a way to rebuild. The Wolves will want to get something for Love and while they think it's possible to keep him, they should beware -that's what the Magic and Nuggets thought too with Anthony and Howard.
