The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed LeBron James and now rumors say a trade for Kevin Love could be next, with Bill Simmons from ESPN tweeting that Andrew Wiggins or Anthony Bennett could be traded along with names like Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson with a first round to get a deal done with the Timberwolves after James decided to return home to the Cavs.
According to SI.com, James has always wanted to return home and now he will do that and is was reported by Lee Jenkins on SI.com. Now ESPN.com is reporting that Bennett, Waiters and a first round pick has been offered to Minnesota for Love.
The news is massive and now sets the dominoes in motion and now Chris Bosh may sign with the Rockets and that leaves Carmelo Anthony to sign with the Chicago Bulls or NY Knicks. Bill Simmons writes that LeBron did not mention Bennett or Wiggins in his release about coming home and while that is not confirmation, it could mean a deal is coming along down the line. Adding Love would make the team title favorites and they may be that already.
James is now coming home and there is a chance that the Cavaliers look at making a deal for Love, as he is the top player on the trade market. Marc Stein at ESPN.com writes that Love is now "intrigued" at the idea of getting traded to Cleveland and he said he would sign long term there. This comes after that wasn't an option and now James, Kyrie Irving and Love could be the Big 3 in the east after Miami did it.
The Cavaliers were looked at as a potential option for Kevin Love earlier when the draft was coming up and now they could be in the mix again. This is insane and crazy news for Cleveland fans and now they are ready to welcome LeBron home. Kevin Love could be coming next, but with Kyrie Irving in on a max deal, things are starting to take shape. There has been no confirmation about shopping any players for Cleveland, but the speculation is now running wild.
The team reportedly was interested in a Kevin Love trade when they were nearing signing James last week and now that could pick up again. Simmons and others write that Bennett and Wiggins could be used to swing a Love trade and that could be enough for the Timberwolves to make a deal. James already has a ton of young talent with Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson and some have pointed to the fact that the two number 1 picks were not named in his Cleveland letter.
James wrote about wanting to raise his family in Cleveland and also about returning home and bringing championships there. James said he hashed things out with Gilbert and now he is on his way home and even if the team doesn't trade for Love, they will be in great position to win in the east, which is a terrible conference. Love is a double-double machine and playing with LeBron may make that a better option than waiting things out and signing with a team like the Lakers. Love is not long for Minnesota and this could be one of the best deals they can find.
