The New York Yankees and Texas Rangers are playing live on Thursday for their series finale in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium and the game is streaming live online from MLB as Brandon McCarthy and Colby Lewis go at it and the Yanks are playing well and come in after winning a rain shortened game against the team on Wednesday night and this American League matchup starts at 1:05 pm ET.
The Yankees just made a trade for Chase Headley and they also got Brandon McCarthy earlier in the season to help with the pitching rotation and he has been solid so far. The Yankees have won the two starts by McCarthy this year and he matches up with Lewis, who is one of the biggest crybabies in the MLB. Lewis complained that Colby Rasmus bunted with the shift on in a game last week and whined about it, but it was only a 2-0 game in like the fourth or fifth inning, so really, shut up Colby.
The Rangers are horrible and this is due to injuries and also some terrible moves that Jon Daniels has made over the past year and now the team is selling, as they already traded Joakim Soria to the Tigers. The Yankees now have won four of five games and they are closing in the division race and also in the wild card, as the stupid damn Mariners couldn't win against the Mets and now are just a half game up.
The Yankees come into things ranked 23rd in runs this season and 16th in batting average and the team has also been lacking with power as well. The pitching rotation is ranked 17th in ERA and 19th in quality starts and now the team is looking to add more after CC Sabathia and Masahiro Tanaka went down. The Yankees have a chance if they can hold tight after dealing with so many injuries, as the Orioles and Jays have not run away with anything and now the team is rooting for the Mariners, as they are playing four against the Orioles this weekend.
The Mariners have Felix and Iwakuma going at the O's and that helps the team after they were terrible against the Mets. The Yankees play against the Jays next at home and that will be a huge series as well and the first game as Hiroki Kuroda against Mark Buehrle for the pitching matchup.
