The NY Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays are playing live on the MLB schedule on Friday night and the matchup from Yankee Stadium is a big one in the division and the playoff race, as they are tied right now and the game starts at 7:05 pm ET and has Mark Buehrle against Hiroki Kuroda and now the Yanks are starting to hit their stride.
The Yankees have been killed by injuries, but they are hanging around and now they have some trades and other moves to help, as Brandon McCarthy has been solid since coming over, while Chris Capuano will come to hold down another rotation spot. Chase Headley was a big get, as the team now can lock down third base for the next couple months and now the team is looking to win against the Jays for the 17th straight time at home, which is kind of ridiculous.
The Yankees are in a virtual tie behind the Orioles in the division and thyme are right there in the wild card now that the Mariners have decided they don't care about hitting or making the playoffs or giving their fans any reason to be optimistic. The M's can do the Yankees and Jays a favor though, as they have three games left this weekend against the Orioles and they sure need to get going.
The Yankees have been killed by injuries this season and they have lost players like Masahiro Tanaka and CC Sabathia and now they need everyone else to step things up. The team is nearing historic territory with the streak over the Jays and this is as big as it gets for the team.
