The Cleveland Browns are bringing along quarterback Johnny Manziel slowly this summer in training camp, but Kyle Shanahan said the rookie will work with the first team offense soon and this comes after yet another mini-controversy regarding Manziel and a bar and now he could get the chance to practice ahead of Brian Hoyer.

The Browns are planning on using Hoyer as the starter heading into the season and while Manziel comes in with tons of hype, he is being treated as a rookie. The first week of practice saw Hoyer take all the first teams snaps and now according to Pro Football Talk, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said that Manziel would be getting reps with the first team soon and that he will also get plenty of playing time in the preseason.

Manziel said that he acknowledges that it will take time to get acquainted with the offense and he has a ton to learn heading into the meat of training camp. The preseason is coming soon and all signs point to the Browns using Hoyer as the starter and they said they will name a starter by the third preseason game. Manziel was drafted at number 22 in the first round by the Browns and now he should get a chance to play with the first team.

"It's a process for me," Manziel said. "It's not something that I should just come in here naturally because I played well in college and just know how to run this offense."
