The MLB Standings 2014 in the AL and NL has division leaders in the LA Dodgers, Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles and the wild card teams in the American League and National League are the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Angels, San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals in playoff position.
The AL East division has the Baltimore Orioles in first place and while they are in the lead, it's not out of reach for the NY Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays yet. The central has the tigers leading and they are now up three games after losing a few to the Yankees and while they have the division, the Royals are close. The AL West is a battle with the Angels and the Athletics and Oakland feels LA coming up right behind.
The Nationals are starting to pull away from the Braves and it looks like Washington is going to win that division. The Brewers have a slight lead over the Cardinals and the Pirates in the central, while in the west it's the Dodgers leading the Giants and everyone else is double digits back.
The American League wild card standings have the Los Angeles Angels firmly in the lead for the first spot, while the Toronto Blue Jays are leading a group of four teams chasing that second spot. The NY Yankees and the Kansas City Royals are right there with the Seattle Mariners, while the Cleveland Indians and Tampa Bay Rays are also alive in the standings.
The National League wild card is a bit more, dare we say, wild, as the Giants are in the first spot but just two games, while the Pittsburgh Pirates are less than a game behind the Cardinals. The other teams in the mix include the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds, while the Miami Marlins and NY Mets are hanging around but likely out of it. The two wild card spots in each league are going to be very close and that should make the playoffs crazy once those one game series come up.
