The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers are playing and the CFL is live on ESPN and WatchESPN with a live stream as the Canadian Football League teams matchup at Investors Group Field in Manitoba and this game starts up past 8:30 pm ET and kicks off the week of football for the players up north.
The Bombers come into the game after their exciting comeback win and that matchup was on the road against Hamilton and now the team is back home and it comes after they just had two straight road games, including a big win against BC. The team now has a stretch against Toronto and Montreal before coming back for another game with Saskatchewan and this time that game will be on the road for the team after this one is at home.
Winnipeg comes into the game leading the league in points with 10 and they have the best record and this most wins with a 5-1 record. The team has the most points scored this season and they are 3-0 on the road and that has been impressive. The team has a two point lead over Calgary and they are also tops over Edmonton. This game tonight is important because it's against a division opponent and the Roughriders and BC are the low teams in the division.
Bombers quarterback Drew Willy has been playing well this season and he helped the team get a nice comeback win at the end of the game last week against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and he is quickly endearing fans from all over for this team, who have been one of the best in the league this season. Willy was able to give a two-yard pass to Nic Grigsby for the winning touchdown in the game last week and that sealed a 27-26 win and it was as exciting of a game as there has been this season and it was just one of many pressure plays where Willy has been solid this year.
The east has Toronto leading, but that's not saying much since they have two wins and four points and everyone else has just one win. The team has been giving up a ton of points, but they are leading the division, while Hamilton, Ottawa and Montreal are trying to pick things up.
Willy brought the team down on a full field drive and ended it with a touchdown to get the win and that was another impressive performance and it came after the team previously had another one point win on the road against the Montreal Alouettes. In that game Willy had a 17-yard touchdown pass with less than 30 seconds and now the team is really rolling and they have the chance to keep it going this week. Willy had a great game with 361 yards passing and he also had that touchdown and his play can be the difference this season and he went head to head with quarterback Dan LeFevour, who has been playing very well too.
