The Oscar Pistorius trial is expected to have a verdict from the judge in South Africa regarding the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp is expected on September 11 from Judge Thokozile Masipa and she made the announcement as the trial came to a close with final arguments and now the fate of the Olympic star known as Blade Runner is in the hands of the judge.
According to ESPN.com, Pistorius is potentially facing 25 years to life in prison if he is convicted of premeditated murder. The shooting occurred back in February of 2013 on Valentine's Day and it came as the star said he thought Steenkamp was an intruder in his bathroom. Pistorius is potentially looking at a long sentence depending on what happens and he has defended himself, saying the shooting was not premeditated and that he thought his home was being burglarized.
"The accused intended to kill a human being," chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel said at the end of closing arguments. "There must be consequences."
