Serena Williams defeated Victoria Azarenka in two straight sets 6-3, 7-6 to qualify for the Ladies' Singles Championship.
"I'm excited. I've been working so hard. I really wanted it," said the four-time Wimbledon champion.
This will be her seventh appearance in a Wimbledon Final.
What did it for Serena in this match was her aces. She got off to an amazing start and overpowered Azarenka with 24 aces in the match. Azarenka only had 1 ace in the entire draw.
Serena did very well on the serve winning 82% of her first serve points. Her dominant serves helped cover up the fact that she committed 14 unforced errors in comparison to just 9 from Azarenka.
Williams will now prepare for her Finals matchup against Agnieszka Radwanska, who won earlier on Thursday.
Radwanska has never made it to a Final in a Grand Slam tournament, giving Serena an edge on experience.
Regardless, Serena knows that this will not matter when they are out on the court and will begin doing the necessary preparations to beat her opponent.
"Radwanska's doing unbelievable, she'd been doing great and she's going to get every ball back so I'm going to have to look at that."
Williams and Radwanska will meet on Saturday for the championship title.
