The Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire are playing live on the US Open Cup schedule on Wednesday night for the semifinals and the game is live at 10:30 pm ET and 7:30 PT and streaming online from the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila in Washington and the fans are always crazy there and that should give the Sounders a big boost in this anticipated matchup.
The Sounders have been one of the best teams in the MLS this season and the Chicago Fire are also looking to make the playoffs and these two teams now will match up in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The Sounders are back in position for the Supporters Shield and they have 41 points in 21 games and the winner of this matchup now will have the Union next and this is a big deal since winning the Cup brings those qualifying chances and also the pride of having the Cup.
The previous game on Tuesday had the Philadelphia Union against FC Dallas and that matchup went 1-1 to penalties. Philly won the matchup and now they wait and see who will be their opponents as the winner of this game. The Sounders look like a championship team this season and they could be on their way to that heading into the back stretch of the schedule and they could end up with the main three in the Supporters Shield, Cup and MLS titles all in one year and that would be the first time anyone has ever done that.
The team just lost DeAndre Yedlin to Tottenham, but he will remain until next season starts and he has the chance to show off his skills to the Europe. Yedlin broke out in the World Cup and now he has become a star with the Sounders and he will be even more high profile now with this move.
