The polls have now officially closed and the fans decided to send David Freese as the last representative for the National League, while Yu Darvish will represent the American League.
The race was pretty close. In New York City, Washington National outfielder, Bryce Harper was trending with #BryceIn12 and Michael Bourn, the Atlanta Braves' centerfielder was trending with #votebourn.
In the afternoon, Bourn made a push to second place behind #Freeseplease, which was St. Louis Cardinals' third baseman, David Freese's Twitter hashtag for voting.
He could not knock out the World Series MVP.
The odd man out from the final spot was Aaron Hill. He did not capture the nation the way Bourn, Freese and Harper did, ultimately, only one player could get in.
Over in the American League, Yu Darvish will take his 10 wins to Kansas City for the All-Star game.
Darvish had publicly stated that he did not believe he was worthy of being nominated into the All-Star game, but fans begged to differ.
Unlike the National League, the AL race did not make much noise as Darvish was at the top since Tuesday.
The Major League Baseball All-Star game will be played in Kansas City on Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT. The action could be seen on FOX.
