Manchester United Transfer News: Another Youngster Leaves United; Ferguson Snaps Up Talented Teenager

Manchester United are set to lose out on another youngster after Zeki Fryers gave the green light to a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Fryers' contract with United ran out at the end of the season, with the 19-year-old refusing to sign a new deal after United refused to meet his wage demands.

New Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has promised Fryers, he will go straight into the first team and compete for a starting spot in the left-back position with Benoit Assou-Ekotto. Spurs' other left-back Danny Rose is expected to move on and find another club.

Sir Alex Ferguson is furious over the developments and United have demanded a £6 million ($9.3 million) compensation fee, with Spurs only willing to pay £2 million ($3.1 million).

Teams are entitled to compensation if the player has come up from their academy, even if the player leaves at the end of a contract.

The fee is expected to be decided by an independent tribunal as United look set to lose out on another talented youngster. Fryers broke into United's first team last season and made his debut in a League Cup match against Leeds United.

Fryers becomes the third youngster to leave after Ravel Morrison left the club and joined West Ham while Paul Pogba rejected the Old Trafford club's contract offer to sign for Juventus.

Meanwhile, United completed the signing of Exeter City teenager Sean Goss for an initial fee of £100,000 ($156,000).

The 16-year-old impressed during a trial last season and Ferguson has quickly sealed the deal for the youngster, who scored 13 goals for Exeter City's under-16 team.

"The last few days haven't felt real -- seeing all the first team players around and the training facilities is like a different world," Goss told Exeter's official website.

"As a Man United supporter as well as an (Exeter) City fan I couldn't believe it, I'd dreamt about it all my life.

"I can't wait to get started now and we've got pre-season games coming up now.

"I just have to continue working hard and my aim now is to just push higher and higher through the ranks."
