The Pittsburgh Steelers' got unwanted news that could hinder the start of their season. Their rushing attack took a serious hit when LeGarrette Blount and Le'Veon Bell were arrested on charges of marijuana possession. That could result in a length suspension from the NFL. There is a possibility of missing two to four games which throws off the team's offensive plan. Blount is coming off a career-high season with the Patriots while Bell showed serious power in his rookie season. Both players are expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles, but should not be counted on for the regular season.
The Eagles ground game is set. Philadelphia might have the best tandem in the NFL with LeSean McCoy taking care of the heavy lifting while Darren Sproles comes in as the red zone threat. Both running backs offer a different skillset, one that head coach Chip Kelly plans on taking advantage of. McCoy has already guaranteed that he will be the best rusher in the league this season over the likes of someone like Adrian Peterson. He has been remaining quiet through the preseason, but is expected to be ready for Week 1.
One thing that is not set for the Eagles is their wide receivers rotation. Both Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper have been on and off the field with minor injuries. They will likely pair with Jordan Matthews who has struggled with rookie mistakes. Quarterback Nick Foles carries big expectations entering the season and needs all three players at their best.
Ben Rothlisberger wishes he had an abundance of receivers to work with but the Steelers gave up more than they signed this offseason. Antonio Brown will leave the way along with Lance Moore. The Steelers remain hopeful that Darrius Heyward-Bey can have a bounce back in his career and it starts with a solid preseason performance.
