Wimbledon 2012 Live Stream: Catch Andy Murray Possibly Make History

Jul 06, 2012 10:50 AM EDT

Andy Murray will enter Friday's match with the chance of making history.

By now everybody has heard that no Englishman has been in the Gentlemen's Singles at Wimbledon since 1938 or won the tournament since 1936.

Fred Perry won it in 1936 while Bunny Austin went to the Final in 1938.

Now, Murray has British eyes on him and has a really great chance of proceeding into the Finals.

He has played solid tennis throughout the tour. The No. 4 ranked player was challenged in the Quarterfinals, but he managed to defeat the No. 7 David Ferrer.

Standing in his way of the Finals is Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the French, who comes into Wimbledon ranked No. 5.

Tsonga, like Murray, is searching for his first Grand Slam title. He has been playing since 2005 and this is only the third time Tsonga has made it to the Semis. He has never been to the Finals of any Grand Slam tournament.

Murray also went pro in 2005 and has been to the Finals three times in his career. He was the runner up twice in the Australian open in 2010 and 2011, then once in 2008 at the U.S. Open.

This is the fourth consecutive time that Murray plays in the Semis at Wimbledon and he hopes to finally get over the hump.

The action takes place following the Federer and Djokovic match. Federer is up 2 sets to 1 and has the advantage in the 4th set, 4-1.
