Porcello has been pitching great while Justin Verlander has struggled and now the Tigers face McCarthy after he put up a three hit shutout and this game is huge as the schedule gets closer to the end. The two teams here are the ones behind the Seattle Mariners in the standings and that will make for an amazing run to the end. McCarthy has been great since coming over in a trade to help with injuries, going 5-2 with the Yankees.

The Yankees need him to continue playing well and now he has the chance to get things going here. The team is also in the top two in on base and slugging percentage. The pitching has been up and down as of late, but Porcello has done well and now the team is looking for a big win and they come in against the Yankees also chasing the royals in the division. The Yankees beat KC to do Detroit a favor and now these two teams matchup.
