NFL 2014 Schedule Week 1: Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers TV Start Time and Game Channel

Sep 03, 2014 11:24 PM EDT

The NFL 2014 Season schedule opens on Thursday with the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers playing against each other and the start time for the game on TV is at 8:30 pm ET from NBC from CenturyLink Field as the Super Bowl champions kick off the season with an NFC matchup with Aaron Rodgers and the Pack.

The Seahawks come into the season after dominating the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl and they were 13-3 last year and are favorites to get back to the championship. The Seahawks play in the toughest division in the sport and that will make repeating very tough and that has not been done since the Denver Broncos did it with John Elway. The Chargers are next on the schedule for Seattle and that is the 4:05 pm game in Week 2 and the team then has a rematch with the Broncos at home before heading into the bye in Week 4.

The Seahawks had one of the best defensive units in the league and they are coming back fully loaded in the secondary with Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas. The team was ranked first in the league in passing yards allowed per game last season and now they have a tough test right away with the Packers. The Packers have a deep roster of receivers and Eddie Lacy showed last season that he is a feature back in the NFL.

The Seahawks have a tough schedule this season, including multiple stretches of three road games in four weeks and one of those has two games against the Niners. The team has road matchups back to back with St. Louis and Carolina and towards the end of the season the teams plays at San Francisco and away against the Eagles. The Seahawks will have a target on their backs and right now they still are considered to be the favorites in the NFC with the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints.
