Team USA and Ukraine are playing in the FIBA World Cup 2014 basketball tournament on Thursday for the final game in group play and the United State are the favorites and are undefeated and this game is live on ESPN and streaming live from WatchESPN online at 11:30 am ET the Bizkaia Arena in Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Spain as Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis lead the US into the round of 16 after this.
The United States have been the favorites for this tournament along with Spain and they are coming off of a nice win against the Dominican Republic. The team blew out Finland and won the rematch with Turkey of the finals from 2010 and now they have Ukraine after playing against the DR. The team has been getting some strong play from Kyrie Irving, who has stepped up while Derrick Rose has been getting a rest. Anthony Davis has been excellent and the young stars up front in Andre Drummond and Kenneth Faried have helped James Harden and DeMarcus Cousins in the rotation.
Davis has been excellent and he may be the best player right now in this tournament and he comes in after going up with 10 points, seven rebounds and five blocks in the last game. Faried has been hitting his shots and rebounding like a monster, while Cousins scored 13 in the last game to go along with 16 points from Faried, which led the squad in the last game. Team USA has been rolling and now they have the chance to stay undefeated into the next round of the tournament.
Davis has been excellent and as the US heads into the round of 16, they remain the favorites and they are looking to repeat as champs. Davis was great in the blowout of New Zealand and now the team plays against Ukraine to finish out Group C and the US showed that they are a strong team, as they won over Turkey and also beat New Zealand, Finland and the Dominican Republic. The team previously had to rally for the win against Turkey, but that was not an issue against NZ and now they are looking to stay strong heading into the next stage.
The following days will have the round of 16 and the semifinals before heading into the gold medal game and that is where the team wants to be. Spain and Turkey are favorites to make it along with the United States and right now no team has shown that it has the depth or the talent that the United States has. Derrick Rose and company will try and go 5-0 at the tournament and they come into this game as heavy favorites.
