The Michigan State Spartans and Oregon Ducks are playing live on the college football schedule on Saturday and the game on FOX Sports is live on TV and streaming from Fox Sports Go and has two teams that are national title hopefuls going at it with Connor Cook and Marcus Mariota as Heisman candidates and they are both ranked in the top 10 and the matchup starts at 6:30 pm ET.
Oregon has been a very good offensive team over the past few years and Mariota is coming off of a great performance last season and he had 267 yards passing in the first matchup with South Dakota. Byron Marshall had eight carries for 90 yards to lead the team in rushing and he also ended up with eight catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns, while Mariota had three scores. The battle between Connor Cook and Mariota is one of the best in the early part of the season and they have a very manageable schedule this year in the Pac-12.
Oregon has Wyoming after playing Michigan State and then the Pac-12 conference schedule picks up and has Washington State coming and that will be on the road and could be a nice shootout, as both teams have strong offensive units. The schedule has Arizona and UCLA over the next two games and those are good offensive teams as well and they will be on the schedule ahead of the game against the Huskies. The Ducks then play on the road against Cal before a ranked matchup with Stanford at home.
The final stretch of the season for Oregon has Utah on the road and it has two of three away with the Utes and then Colorado at home before playing Oregon State in Corvallis for the Civil War. Connor Cook has gotten off to a very solid start with 285 yards and three touchdowns, while Jeremy Langford had 57 yards last week in the opening game. The Spartans killed Jacksonville State and they have another easy matchup with Eastern Michigan before Wyoming and then they play against Nebraska.
