The fantasy football injury report for Week 3 has some big names on it for players that missed games and that were injured over the weekend, including Jamaal Charles, Dennis Pitta, Arian Foster, Owen Daniels, Vernon Davis, Jonathan Stewart, Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams and Doug Martin among some of the players that could miss time going forward.
Jamaal Charles and Doug Martin along with Vernon Davis came into the week banged up and fantasy football owners should keep an eye on their statuses moving forward. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are coming into the Monday night football matchup with injuries, but they are expected to play in the game against the Jets for the Bears. Arian Foster missed the game on Sunday against the Giants and while his injury could be a lingering one, he is expected back next week.
DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart are dealing with injuries for the Panthers and they will need those players back soon to help Cam Newton with the offense. Pitta could be out for a while depending on what his injury is and that would be a big blow to the Ravens, as he is their best tight end option even with Owen Daniels there. The team knows that he has a hip injury and now they are just waiting to see the extent of it and he is getting looked at in Cleveland. Pitta has a dislocated hip and the injury could be a fracture and if that's the case he could be out for a while. Last season he missed 12 games while dealing with a hip injury.
Jonathan Stewart got the start for the Panthers with DeAngelo Williams injured and he was looking good until he ended up getting hurt himself. Stewart had to leave the game with an injury in the game against the Steelers and he came out after rushing for 31 yards and making three catches for 19 yards. Williams is dealing with a thigh injury and now Stewart could be dealing with a knee injury, although right now it doesn't appear to be serious.
Chris Johnson is banged up and there is a chance that he will miss the game on Monday night football for the Jets against the Bears. Johnson is dealing with an ankle injury and he currently is up in the air about his status for the game. The Jets likely will be cautious with Johnson and he is not looking like a good start option in fantasy football for the Jets. The Bears defense has been shaky, but with Johnson a question mark, fantasy owners should look at Chris Ivory or Bilal Powell.
Danny Woodhead is out for the season with an injury and that makes Donald Brown the main pickup with Ryan Mathews also on the mend. Arian Foster was inactive on Sunday against the Giants and he is dealing with a hamstring injury and that gave way to Alfred Blue in the game. Jamaal Charles is dealing with an ankle injury and he could return soon, but he was out on Sunday and now the Chiefs have decisions to make regarding him and the next game for the team.
