The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers are playing live on the MLB schedule and the NL West game is big for the playoffs as both are battling in the division and SF is in a wild card spot and the game starts up at 10 pm ET on ESPN and streaming from WatchESPN as two of the best in Zack Greinke and Madison Bumgarner face off on the mound as LA hosts at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers come in leading the division and the Giants are still alive with a handful of games left, as they are 3.5 games back and can gain more with a win on Tuesday night. Greinke and Bumgarner are matching up in a fine pitching matchup, with both pitchers coming in with sub 3.00 ERAs this year. Bumgarner has 18 wins and he has been stellar for San Francisco and he has been one of the most valuable players for the team this season.
The Giants have been playing well and they have the chance to cut into the Dodgers lead with another victory and Bumgarner comes in looking to win his fourth straight start. The Giants have won all but two games this season at Dodger Stadium and the team now is in the wild card as the final week of the season winds down. Bumgarner has pitched very well against the Dodgers in his career and he has a sub 2.50 ERA with an 11-4 record and he is hoping to add another one. Bumgarner is 7-2 against the team since 2-12 and he last pitched against the team and won earlier in September.
The Dodgers have been one of the most balanced teams in the league and they will be a World Series contender come October. The team is ranked in the top five in batting average and on base percentage and they are also in the top 10 in runs and slugging percentage. The pitching has been fantastic and they are in the top 10 in the league across the board in ERA, quality starts and BAA. The game on Wednesday has a prime pitching matchup with Tim Hudson and Clayton Kershaw and Kershaw could be on his way to another Cy Young.
