Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is cooperating with the FSU title IX investigation and this comes as his lawyer revealed that the woman accusing Winston of rape asked for $7 million to stay quiet and after that offer was rebuffed, she went to the media, according to a report from TMZ Sports.
According to ESPN.com, Winston is cooperating with the school's investigation and that comes after FSU was ambivalent when the allegations first arose and now the school is investigating because they are legally obligated to do so. The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights has also investigated the case and now the school is working on their report.
Winston's lawyer wrote to the school: "Mr. Winston will cooperate with the Investigation. He looks forward to clearing his name. But Mr. Winston will not walk into a honey trap. The Investigation must be a legitimate investigation."
