The Seattle Sounders and FC Dallas are playing live on the MLS schedule on Wednesday night and the game is from Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas as the top team in Major League Soccer tries to keep things going after their US Open Cup win and the game starts up at 9 pm ET and 8 pm local time and both are in the playoffs in the current standings.
The Sounders have been the best team in the league this season, but they are getting some stiff competition from the LA Galaxy and now the teams are tied for the Supporters Shield. The Sounders are looking to keep things going and they had a four game winning streak stopped by the NY Red Bulls on the road and that was a 4-1 loss. The Sounders have eight wins in the all time series between the two teams and this is the third time this season that the teams are playing.
The Sounders came back for a victory in Seattle with two goals to win in May and the team also came back in the game in Dallas to win that matchup. Dallas does not have a great track record against Seattle and they won only one of the last eight games and the Sounders also have won the last four games at home against the team. The teams now matchup in Texas and Seattle will be looking to get back on the winning side of things and they want the Supporters Shield.
Dallas comes in after losing for the third time in four matches and that was to the LA Galaxy and now they are still in playoff position at fourth in the west. Dallas took the lead in the matchup against Los Angeles and they allowed the team to come back and they lost their third match away from Toyota Stadium during that stretch. The team had played very well leading into that streak, as they were unbeaten in 10 games and that put them right in the middle of the standings. The Sounders also had a streak end with their loss to the Red Bulls on Saturday night and they are still on top of the western conference with the most points, tied with the Galaxy.
Seattle and Los Angeles have already clinched playoff spots in the western conference and they are now battling for the best record in the league. The teams have a lead over Real Salt Lake and Dallas, while the Timbers are in fifth position ahead of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
