Thursday Night Football Results: New York Giants Win Over Washington Redskins 45-14 Score

Sep 26, 2014 08:50 AM EDT

The New York Giants defeated the Washington Redskins in a blowout win on Thursday night football, winning 45-14 after a fantastic game from Eli Manning and the offense and now NY is 2-2 and they will have a long week before playing the Falcons at home in Week 5 of the schedule.

Eli Manning had a fantastic game and Kirk Cousins was picked off four times and now the Giants are right in the mix in the division, while Washington is now 1-3 on the season. Manning had 400 yards and a TD along with a rushing touchdown and his one interception was borderline at best and now he is looking like he finally has a handle on the offense. Larry Donnell had three first half touchdown catches and the team looked cohesive and had a rhythm on offense that is important for Ben McAdoo's system.

The Giants were heavily criticized during the preseason for not looking good in the offense and now Manning has the team playing on that side of the ball like it was a few years ago. The Giants defense was an issue for a couple years and not the offense and that reversed last season. Manning and the offense looked good and Victory Cruz added six catches for 108 yards and this was the most amount of points the team has scored in a while.

The Giants shutout the Redskins in the first and fourth quarters and they scored a ton of points off turnovers and now they have a king break heading into the game against the Falcons. Donnell has great size and athleticism and he looks like he is breaking out this season for Manning and the Giants. Manning was great for the second straight week, going 28 for 39 and looking sharp all game. The defense came through with six turnovers and the Giants now can rest and wait for the Falcons to come to NY next weekend.
