The NHL season schedule for 2014-15 will begin on October 8 for opening night and the start times for the games is 7 pm ET and 10 pm ET as four games go down with the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins playing, San Jose Sharks and LA Kings, Montreal Canadiens and Maple Leafs along with the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames.
The start of the season will have the Kings raising up their championship banner and that will happen when the Sharks visit and that comes after the team came back from 0-3 down to win over San Jose last season. The Canadiens and Maple Leafs have an Original Six rivalry game to open the season and that will be a very anticipated matchup as the clubs from Canada try and get off to a good start this season.
The Canucks-Flames and Kings-Sharks game starts up at 10 pm ET, while the Montreal and Toronto game opens up the season at 7 pm ET. The Flyers and Bruins matchup in Boston starts at 7:30 pm ET and that game will be on the NBC Sports Network and so will the Kings matchup with the Sharks in LA.
The schedule really gets started the next night on Thursday, as that has basically everyone else in action, including the Rangers taking on the Blues on the road, while the Blackhawks will open against Dallas. Some other matchups include the Canadiens taking on the Capitals after opening the season the night before, while the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings also will play. The newly named Arizona Coyotes will be playing host to the Winnipeg Jets, while the Devils and Flyers will play in Philly.\
