The Miami Dolphins are expecting to get Knowshon Moreno back soon and that is good news for fantasy owners, but this week against the Raiders in London, Lamar Miller and Damien Williams are start options with Moreno out and fantasy owners would be wise to hang onto Miller moving forward in case Moreno goes down again later in the season and heading out of Week 4 into the bye, he is a solid option for Week 6.
Moreno started off the season solid with 138 yards and a touchdown in two games, but he came down with an elbow injury and he still is out for the time being. According to Pro Football Talk, Moreno could be back for Week 6 and that is where fantasy owners should be looking since the Dolphins have a bye following their London trip. The team previously has made this trip and Moreno will be out this week, meaning that Miller and Williams are the better start options for the Dolphins.
Miller had a down season last year but he has the chance to step up against a Raiders team that has been struggling very hard. The Dolphins are hoping Moreno can return soon and once he does they hope he can pick up where he left off last season with the Broncos. Moreno was hit with a four to eight week diagnosis for his elbow injury and if he doesn't come back after the bye week, the Dolphins expect him to be healed up for the following game.
Miller has made the most of his chance and he now has 213 yards in three games and he also has added 10 catches for 50 yards and has had a 100 yard game. Miller could be a solid option even when Moreno comes back, as the Dolphins offense has been ugly and with the QB issues, they could be running the ball quite a bit moving forward. Tannehill threw 43 times last week despite his struggles and that means more running this week and it comes after Miller had a great game with 15 carries for 108 yards along with four catches.
Last season the Dolphins ranked just 20th in the league in passing yards per game and that was a disappointment considering the team added Mike Wallace on a massive deal in the offseason last year. The team got some great play from Brian Hartline and now they need Wallace to step up as well as Jarvis Landry, who had over 50 catches and 1,000 yards last season at LSU and could be a game changer after getting drafted in the second round.
The team ranked 26th in the league in rushing yards per game and they need to improve that as well. One key for Tannehill is the play of Knowshon Moreno, who should be able to stabilize the rushing game with Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller and on top of that, he could be a true threat out of the backfield for Tannehill. Last season Dustin Keller was injured and that left Charles Clay to step in and with Moreno, Tannehill could have a very productive receiver and go-to-guy when things get hectic in the backfield, as Moreno set career highs last season in receptions and yards with the Broncos.
