The MLB playoffs schedule for 2014 is here and the TV channel and start time for the AL Wild Card game is on TBS on Tuesday and it starts up at 8:07 p.m as the Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals face off at Kauffman Stadium and that will kick off the baseball postseason ahead of the Giants and Pirates playing in the NL wild card game.
It took to the final day of the season, but now all the series are set and the Baltimore Orioles are playing the Detroit Tigers and that will open in Baltimore when the ALDS starts. The Angels now get to wait, as they have the best record and will play against either the Royals or the Athletics. In the NL, the Giants and Pirates play to see who will face the Nationals, while the Cardinals and Dodgers will be matching up against each other.
The September game has the American League wild card and once the calendar turns to October, there will be baseball on almost every night. The Wednesday game is October 1 and that has the San Francisco Giants taking on the Pirates in Pittsburgh for the wild card. The Pirates are into the playoffs for the second straight season after missing out for two decades and the Royals are into the playoffs for the first time in nearly three decades.
The Washington Nationals and the Los Angeles Angels clinched the top spots in the NL and AL, which means they will host the Division Series and the Championship Series if they advance from that round. The American League has the home field advantage in the World Series this year and the earliest date for the start of the WS is on Tuesday, October 21. The latest that the World Series can last this year Wednesday, October 29.
