The Miami Dolphins and fantasy football owners will get Knowshon Moreno back in the lineup soon and he will start once he returns, while LaMichael James and Lamar Miller are solid free agent RB pickups for Week 5 leading into Week 6 over Damien Williams, as James was just signed and with a bye coming this weekend for the team, those players could be available in leagues while the team is off.
The Dolphins have been without Moreno for a few weeks while he deals with a dislocated shoulder and he could be back soon and that would take away carries from Miller. Fantasy owners have been very pleased with Miller so far stepping in for Moreno and now the Dolphins have added another name into the mix by signing LaMichael James. According to Pro Football Talk, Moreno expects to be back in four weeks after dealing with an elbow injury and that is good news for fantasy owners.
Moreno came into the season with the chance to take over as the starting back for the Dolphins if he played well, but clearly injuries knocked that aside. Moreno came in after his best season of his career with the Broncos, going for over 1000 yards and also putting up career highs in receiving yards and catches. While that had a lot to do with playing in Denver with Peyton Manning, Moreno had a high upside for the Dolphins and they will be thrilled to get him back.
Lamar Miller and Damien Williams stepped in for Moreno with him out and Miller really performed well and he has been solid for fantasy owners. The addition of James helps the Dolphins, but initially it should not affect Miller too much, as he has a hold on the starting job. Miller had a down season last year, but he came into 2014 with a renewed focus and now he has the chance to be an RB1 type for the next few weeks for fantasy owners until Moreno returns. Miller had a strong game in the opener for the Patriots and he has continued to play well for the Dolphins.
The Dolphins have a bye week after playing in London and they have some tough games with the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, but the Bears D hasn't been great and after that the team plays Jacksonville. Moreno will be a solid starter option once he comes back and for now Miller is the player to look at. Moreno opened the season with 25 carries for 138 yards and now he will be out for a few more weeks before returning to the starting lineup.
Miller has been very good while Moreno has been out, as he has 277 yards rushing and two scores to go along with 12 catches for over 50 yards. Miller had a strong day last week against the Raiders with two touchdowns and he also rushed for 64 yards on 12 carries. Miller is on pace for a career high amount of yards and he is coming off of a season last year when he had 709 yards for the Dolphins. At this rate Miller is going to go over 1000 yards, while James could be a spot option in deeper leagues the next couple weeks.
