Arsenal Transfer News: Milo Hoping to Seal Gunners Move; Arshavin Interesting Zenit

Jul 12, 2012 02:15 AM EDT

Highly-rated Egyptian youngster Milo said he would love to seal a deal to Arsenal as soon as possible.

Arsenal have been tracking the 21-year-old left-back for a while now and recent reports suggested the Gunners might be ready to step up their interest for the defender, who currently plays for Egyptian side Haras Al Hodood.

Milo confirmed he is aware of Arsenal's interest and hopes to impress the Gunners scouts, when he represents Egypt in the London Olympics.

"Arsenal officials have been following me since my participation in the Toulon tournament in 2009," the youngster told FilGoal.

"And the English team got more interested in me after Toulon 2012 and I'm now waiting for their official letter.

"I will meet with the Haras Al Hodood officials before I leave with the Olympic squad on Thursday (to France for two warm-up matches) to understand their stance from this offer.

"I believe the Arsenal scouts will watch me closely at the London Olympics.

"My participation at London 2012 is what will determine my next step, and I hope to come to a European club."

Meanwhile, Andrey Arshavin could still make a move to former club Zenit St Petersburg. A move to the Russian club was deemed difficult after Arshavin clashed with some Russian fans following their early exit at Euro 2012. Zenit president criticised Arshavin's reaction and said he should be banned from Russia for life.

However, it is understood Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti is keen to bring the 31-year-old back to his hometown club. Arshavin helped Zenit to the Russian league title after making a loan move in the latter part of last season.

"He is one of the players who can strengthen Zenit," Spalletti said. "When a team wins the league by almost 15 points you need to look for players like that."

Arshavin is also piquing interest from Middle East as well as Turkey and Major League Soccer in the US.
