The San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals are playing live on the NLDS schedule for Game 2 on Saturday night and the matchup from Nationals Park has the live stream from Fox Sports Go, TV coverage from Fox Sports 1 and radio coverage from ESPN Radio and the pitching matchup has Tim Hudson against Jordan Zimmermann and the game starts past 5:30 pm ET.
Zimmermann comes into the game after throwing a no hitter in the final game of the season against the Marlins and he has been as good as anyone for the Nats this season. the team Stephen Strasburg against Jake Peavy in the first matchup and the Giants stole that game and now have won nine playoff games in a row. The team was up 3-0 before giving up a mammoth home run to Bryce Harper and then another run, but the experienced team was able to hang on and now they have a chance to win Game 2, which is what the Royals did in the ALDS to the Angels to go up 2-0 after winning the first matchup.
The Giants come into the playoffs as the most experienced in the NL along with the Cardinals and they showed why in their game against the Nationals. The team won the wild card game against the Pirates in dominating fashion and now they have the chance to go up two games against the Nationals. The Giants won three straight games to comeback against the Cardinals in the NLCS a couple years ago before sweeping the World Series and now they have won two more games and could extend that playoff streak into 10 games.
Zimmermann has been fantastic and in his last 11 starts he has not lost a game and has gone 8-0 this season in those games with an 1.81 ERA and that will make it tough for the Giants on Saturday. Hudson is an experienced pitcher and while he did not have a great season, he was very solid this year for the Giants and now they are looking to win another even year World Series after winning in 2010 and also in 2012 and now they have the Nationals. Hudson last started against the National before and his last win came against the team in August before he went 0-4 in September and he is looking to bounce back after dropping those games and putting up and 8.00 plus ERA in those starts.
The Nationals were the best team in the NL this season and they will have to face off against Madison Bumgarner in the next game. The team avoided him in Game 1 since he pitched against the Pirates and he will be only getting one start in this series. He will face off against Doug Fister and the Nats will be looking to pull the series even ahead of Game 3.
