The Golden State Warriors and LA Lakers are playing on the NBA preseason schedule live on Thursday night and the game is on TV from NBATV as Los Angeles hosts the California matchup and it starts up at 10:30 pm ET as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson take on Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer and Jeremy Lin from the Staples Center.
The Warriors come into the game after winning their last preseason game against the Clippers and they are playing against the Lakers for their next preseason game as well. The team comes in after a long summer of talk and rumors with the Kevin Love trade and the team also now has a new head coach in Steve Kerr. The team opted to keep Klay Thompson over making the Kevin Love deal and now they have Thompson and Steph Curry coming back as one of the best backcourts in the league.
The team was ranked 10th in the league in scoring by points per game last season and they also were 10th in defense and that will be the key for the Warriors. The team won over 50 games last season and if Kerr can keep the defense strong, the Warriors have another chance to go deep in the playoffs. The two teams are 1-0 on the preseason and the Lakers come in after winning just 27 games last year.
The Lakers have a new head coach with Byron Scott and he is going to try and instill some toughness in this team and the real sticking point could be the health of Kobe Bryant. The team won over the Nuggets in their last game and they come in after trading for Jeremy Lin and signing Carlos Boozer in the offseason.
