The MLB playoffs are back with the ALCS and the radio coverage is live online from ESPN as the Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles matchup in KC at Kauffman Stadium and the ESPN Radio coverage picks up at 8 pm ET with the O's down 2-0 and playing to try and get back into the American League Championship Series.
The pitching matchup for this game has Wei-Yin Chen against Jeremy Guthrie and the game on Wednesday will have the aces again after the rain on Monday. The matchup is huge for the Orioles, as they cannot afford to go 3-0 down and have to pull a Red Sox just to get out of it. The Orioles were the better team in the regular season and they were one of the best offensive teams in the league, while KC was one of the worst.
The tables have turned around now in the playoffs, as the Royals have been scoring seemingly at will, while the Orioles have not been able to generate as much offense. Alex Gordon has been huge for the Royals along with Eric Hosmer and their bullpen has been fantastic all postseason. The Royals won over the Angels in three games and now they are just two wins away from making it back to the World Series. No matter who wins, it will be a new blood team against some old blood, as these two in the AL have not been to the WS in years.
The Orioles are in a very tough position heading into this game, as they are playing up against some history with the Royals winning the first two. 11 teams have been in this position before and no team has come back after losing the first two at home and while the Royals have been unbelieveable, the Orioles now need to be that good to win. The Orioles will have to be that one team that makes a comeback and they have the fire power to do it.
