The NY Jets are playing against the New England Patriots on Thursday night and Eric Decker will be starting and is a solid fantasy football start option along with Jace Amaro, Jeremy Kerley and Chris Ivory for Geno Smith, as New York needs a good performance after losing five straight games and now they have to do it against the Pats in Week 7.
Smith and the Jets need to bounce back after losing to the Denver Broncos last weekend and wideout Eric Decker is expected to play after dealing with a hamstring injury. According to Pro Football Talk, Decker was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and that means he likely will be in the starting lineup along with Jeremy Kerley.
Decker has 20 catches for 258 yards this season with three touchdowns and he is coming off of one of his most productive games of the season. Last week Decker had six catches for 54 yards and one touchdown against the Broncos and in the past two weeks he has 10 catches and two touchdowns and he could be a favorite target for Smith along with Amaro after the way he played last weekend. Amaro had 10 catches in the game against the Broncos and he also found the endzone.
Decker is good to go against the Patriots and he is the top fantasy option at WR along with Kerley, who has the chance to have a good game as well as long as Smith doesn't play terribly. Smith has the potential to put up decent numbers, but he has turned the ball over too much and that has been the main issue for him in his short career. Decker has been dealing with a hamstring injury and while it's a short week, he should be ready to go.
Kerley only had one catch last week, but he had seven targets and he should be in line with that again this week. The Jets are looking to get him move involved and he has not had more than three catches since week 3, when he had his best game with seven catches for 81 yards and a TD. Chris Ivory had just seven yards in the loss last week against the Broncos, but he should get a steady dose of carries on Thursday. This season he has over 300 yards rushing and has been solid along with Chris Johnson.
The Jets have been mostly a mess on offense this season, but they seem to bring up their game when the Patriots are on the schedule and they could do that again on Thursday night. The Jets lost badly to the Chargers two weeks ago and they lost again last week to the Denver Broncos and while the score was close, the team never really was in the game.
