The Hokies come into the game playing very well and they are 4-2 on the season and while Florida State is once again running away with things in the conference, FSU has a tough game on Saturday. The Hokies would love to take advantage of that and get a win here and it comes against a Pitt team that has started off 3-3 and has looked very good at times. The Virginia Tech side comes in after a win against North Carolina and that was a 34-17 victory and now they have Pitt before a game against the U as in Miami.
The team comes in with the defense playing very well and over the past two games they have allowed just 17 points and have scored over 30 and for Frank Beamer, that is a way to win. The team is ranked in the top 25 this season in defense and they are allowing 19 points per game. Michael Brewer has been leading the way for the team and while they followed up their huge win against Ohio State with two very bad losses and he has 1409 yards and 10 scores this season. The team lost to East Carolina and Georgia Tech after that upset against Ohio State and since those losses they have won two in a row.
The ACC is always a tough conference and the Hokies know that Florida State could be lurking in the title game if they make it. The team is now 1-1 in the conference and that makes this matchup with Pitt even more important. The team misses out on FSU this season and they have two straight home games after playing against Pitt on the road. The end of the season has some tough games, as they finish out with Boston College, Duke, Wake Forest and the rivalry game against Virginia.
The Panthers come into the game after a loss against Virginia and they are looking to bounce back ahead of their game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets next on the schedule. The team has played great defense as well and they are in the top 20 with just 19 points allowed per game.
The schedule has three straight losses coming in for Pitt and that came after a 3-0 start that included a nice win over Boston College. The schedule has Duke coming up after GT and then the team goes on the road against North Carolina after that. The Panthers finish the season with Syracuse and Miami and that final matchup with the Hurricanes will be on the road. The ACC matchup is on ESPN and is streaming online from WatchESPN.
