The PGA Tour leaderboard is live from the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas and the scores are live as the rounds move towards the weekend and the top part of the scoreboard has Stewart Cink, Martin Laird, Andrew Svoboda, Webb Simpson and Russell Knox among a group of players at the top and things are picking up from TPC Summerlin after Simpson won the tournament last year.
The tournament doesn't have any major names after the Grand Slam of Golf earlier in the week, but Simpson clearly knows this course after winning last season. Simpson right now is in second place at eight under and he is tied with Spencer Levin behind Andrew Svoboda in the lead. Stewart Cink and Martin Laird started off in the lead after the first round and Cink was excellent to finish off his day. Cink ended up with seven birdies over the last 11 holes and that gave him a share of the lead coming into the Friday round.
Cink did not have a bogey score through the round and it was the first start since he dropped from the FedEx Cup playoffs following the second event. The last time he won was back in the 2009 Open Championship and now he is trying to add another one. Cink said he felt good on the day and was surprised with how things ended and now he will be trying to stay on top and Simpson is right there as well.
