The Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Ohio State Buckeyes are playing live on the Big Ten conference football schedule and the game from Ohio Stadium is the first time the two teams are meeting as conference foes and it starts at 3:30 pm ET on ABC/ESPN2 with online live coverage from the WatchESPN website as the number 13 team in the nation tries to stay clean in the Big 10.
The Buckeyes come into the game at first in the Big Ten East and they are 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in the conference and now they face off against Rutgers. This is a milestone game for the Scarlet Knights and they will be trying to pull off the upset after Virginia Tech won earlier this season in Columbus. The Buckeyes come into the game after a win against Maryland on the road and they scored over 50 points in that game and now Urban Meyer and JT Barrett will try and get it done again.
The Buckeyes have a game next week against Penn State and they come in with one of the top offense in the nation. The team is ranked fifth in points scored per game this year with over 40 and the defense has been playing well too. The team is ranked 31st in the nation in points allowed per game and they are in the top 20 in rushing yards per contest. Meyer has been getting along without Braxton Miller and Barrett has stepped in and played well with 1354 passing yards and 17 touchdowns.
The Buckeyes have two of the next three games on the road after playing against Rutgers and the next home game will be against Illinois after matching up with Penn State. The team has their next big matchup against Michigan State and they are ranked in the top 10 right now and that game will be in East Lansing and will be one of the games that could determine how the conference shakes out. Those two teams played last season and that comes ahead of a tough stretch to finish for the Buckeyes.
The team has already suffered a home upset to Virginia Tech and down the stretch they have three conference games that should be manageable. The team plays against the Minnesota Gophers on the road and then they have two games at home with Indiana and Michigan. Rutgers comes into the game after a win against Michigan and they now have their first Big Ten victory.
The Scarlet Knights are 1-1 in the conference and the team has won three games in a row and now they have two road games coming up. The team plays at Ohio State and then against NeBraska and those are the first two games against ranked teams. The Knights them have Wisconsin and Indians and they end the season with two tough matchups, going on the road to Michigan State and away against Maryland.
