The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Florida State Seminoles are playing on the college football schedule on Saturday night and the game from Doak Campbell Stadium starts at 8 pm ET on TV from ABC and streaming live from WatchESPN as the ACC leaders take on ND and both teams are undefeated as FSU quarterback Jameis Winston comes in yet again with controversy behind him.
Florida State has been one of the best teams in the nation along with Notre Dame and they are both 6-0 on the season and this could decide who ends up in the playoff for these teams. Winston is trying to win another Heisman, but his stats are not as good as they were last season and now he comes in once again with some controversy behind him. Notre Dame is the toughest game left on the schedule for Florida State and if they make it past this matchup, they should have a clear shot at the college football playoff.
Winston has put up numbers even if they aren't as great as last season and now he is looking to lead his team to a 7-0 record. The Seminoles are coming in after a win over Syracuse that dropped them from number one to number two and heading out of this game they have another ACC matchup with the Louisville Cardinals. Winston had over 300 yards last week and he is looking to win over Everett Golson in this matchup.
The Seminoles come into the game averaging nearly 40 points per contest and their defense is ranked 30th in the nation in points against. The team is ranked in the top 15 in passing yards per game and they were able to escape their toughest game prior to this after Jameis Winston was suspended against Clemson. The team won with sean Maguire and that went into overtime and now Winston comes in with autographs and a hearing trailing him and naturally Florida State is only focused on the field.
The team has two of the next three on the road and that has Louisville coming up next before Virginia and then Miami. The team has Boston College and the Florida Gators to end the season. Notre Dame comes in after a wild game against North Carolina and they have three straight games on the road and also a week off coming up. The Irish next play against Navy after Florida State in Tallahassee and then after that they have another tough game with Arizona State. Tempe is one of the toughest places to play and the team is currently ranked in the top 25.
The Irish come into the game looking to stay hot and they scored 50 points last week and their defense is now ranked seventh in the nation allowing under 20 points per game. Last week they allowed 43, so they will have to be careful with Winston and after that they have tough games coming up. The team ends the season with Northwestern and Louisville before a road game against USC in Los Angeles.
