With the 2012 London Olympics less than two weeks away, here at Sports World Report we are giving you the full rosters of some of the teams that will represent the United States.
The U.S. Women's Soccer team is ready to repeat as the gold medalists in 2012. They took Beijing by storm in 2008.
They will bring back 11 players from the 2008 team and Christie Rampone will make her record 4th soccer team appearance. Rampone was a member of the 1999 USA Women's Championship Soccer team and turned 37 back in June. Rampone was once a high scorer, but became a defender once joining the U.S. National Team in 1997.
For the rest of the ladies, does the name Hope Solo ring a bell?
Yeah she is coming back.
Here is the 18-player roster of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Soccer team.
Solo will be joined by fellow goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart.
On the defense end, Rampone will lead Rachel Buehler, Amy LePeilbet, Heather Mitts, Kelley O'Hara and Becky Sauerbunn.
The midfielders will be Shannon Boxx, Lauren Cheney, Tobin Heath, Carli Lloyd, Heather O'Reilly and Megan Rapinoe.
The forwards will be Sydney Leroux, Alex Morgan, Amy Rodriguez and Abby Wambach.
Wambach recently posed for ESPN's 2012 Body Issue, you can get a copy of that as the magazine hit shelves on July 13th.
Buehler, Solo, Barnhart, Mitts, Boxx, Cheney, Lloyd, Heath, O'Reilly, Rampone and Rodriguez were all members of the 2008 team that won the gold in Beijing.
So there is enough experience in the 2012 team.
