Chelsea and Shrewsbury Town are playing live on the Football League Cup schedule for the Capital One Cup on Tuesday and the match is from Greenhouse Meadow for the fourth round and is streaming live online from beIN Sport and has the Blues likely making some changes, as they come in as the leading Premier League side after pulling a draw with Manchester United over the weekend in the EPL.
Chelsea has been the best team in the EPL this season and they have scored the most goals coming into next weekend. The team now has this matchup in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup and they are tops over Southampton in the league standings. Chelsea has basically been on top since the season started and they have put together some strong play to open. Diego Costa has been huge for the team and Jose Mourinho feels that his side has a real chance to be a winner this year after missing out last season.
Shrewsbury is the lowest ranked team left in the Capital One Cup and they now are matching up with the best team in the EPL and this gives Chelsea the chance to get another win. It's a David and Goliath matchup, but Mourinho has already spoken about taking the team seriously and Chelsea will not allow them to take the team by surprise. Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro is the player that Chelsea needs to watch, as he has put in four goals in League Two and he could be a factor on Tuesday.
The team comes in after a win against Portsmouth and they have won four in a row coming into the match, while Chelsea comes in after a draw with Manchester United. Mourinho is going to rotate his lineup for this match and they actually have an easy game coming up in the EPL on the weekend schedule, as they have QPR, who is at the bottom of the league standings.
Chelsea comes in at first in the league table standings and they dropped six goals in their last Champions League match against Maribor and they are looking very good in all competitions. Coming up the team has West Brom on the schedule after playing against Liverpool and that will be a big match at Anfield. Chelsea then has Sunderland on the EPL schedule and that comes after they make a return trip to Schalke in the Champions League.
The two teams have not met in a decade and John Terry actually played in that game, which was a win for Chelsea in the FA Cup fourth round. Chelsea has kept things against the team in decades and they have not given a loss since back in 1983 and chances are that will not happen again, as Chelsea is playing some great football right now.
