The Florida State Seminoles prepare to face their final ranked opponent of the season as they head on the road to play Louisville in another ACC matchup. The Seminoles are once again entering a game with ongoing controversy as it remains on clear whether or not starting running back Karlos Williams will be available to play or not. Currently facing a suspension, head coach Jimbo Fisher denies reports Williams will be held out.
Williams is currently being investigated for a domestic battery incident, something the victim in the case is trying to get dismissed. The Tallahassee Police Department confirmed they are looking into an issue involving the running back as the attorney for the woman attempts to get the whole thing dropped. Williams was not arrested for the incident but could be the cause of a Title XI investigation as well.
Fisher was quick to say in a press conference that Williams will play against Louisville who currently owns the nation's best defense. The team is trying to stretch their win streak to 24 games and Williams plays a big role in that. The running back currently leads the team with 378 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. The Cardinals will be a test somewhat for the Seminoles. They lead the nation in total defense and rushing defense along with being second in interceptions.
The Seminoles have been off a week since beating Notre Dame in the controversial ending. Williams got the winning touchdown in the game to put Florida State up with just six minutes left to play. Winston passed for 273 yards and two touchdowns in that game. If Florida state can get passed Louisville, they do not have another ranked opponent on the schedule and will likely cruise until the College Football Playoffs.
The game could be a solid matchup for receivers. The Seminoles enter with Rashad Greene who has 791 yards on the year, putting up over 100 yards in five games. However, DeVante Parker is a solid option as well. He made his season debut against North Carolina State after suffering a toe injury. He has 132 yards off nine catches for the win. Quarterback Will Gardner is certainly thrilled to see his top target back as they face Florida State.
