Darren Clarke has a lot of work to do as he finds himself in 11th to last place after shooting +6 in the first round.
Phil Mickelson shot a 73, good for a +3 and is T-99th on the leaderboard.
Tune into ESPN to watch Rory McIlroy on Friday morning. He will be teeing off at 4:20 a.m. Eastern Time and ESPN will be broadcasting the Open Championships beginning at 4:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
McIrloy is tied with Tiger Woods and Bubba Watson for sixth place after shooting a 67, good for -3.
