The fantasy football Week 9 schedule is here and some start or sit options for the weekend include Jamaal Charles, Denard Robinson, Andre Ellington, Doug Martin, Matt Asiata, RG3, Larry Donnell, Trent Richardson, Arian Foster, Justin Forsett, Ronnie Hillman, Ryan Tannehill, Branden Oliver, Odell Beckham and Brian Hoyer, as some of those players are banged up and others have the chance to step up big.
Coming into the weekend there are a number of players who are on the injury report and fantasy owners should keep an eye on Robert Griffin, Andre Ellington, Doug Martin and Ronnie Hillman as the inactive come out on Sunday. Martin is expected to SIT, while Griffin is expected to start for the Redskins after being out since back in Week 2 and any fantasy owners that have him should feel good about playing Griffin. RG3 has been awaiting this week for a while and he has a decent matchup with the Vikings, who are hosting the game in Minnesota. For the Vikings, Asiata is a SIT option.
Jamaal Charles was listed on the injury report heading into the week after the major hit he took before last weekend against the Chargers in Week 7. Charles said he was fine afterwards and he ended up having another fantastic game for Kansas City and owners should feel good about STARTING him on Sunday. Charles has a prime matchup with the NY Jets in Week 9 and he should be in the lineup as long as he is active. Charles has been one of the most consistent players in fantasy and with the game coming from Arrowhead he could be even more productive than usual against a reeling Jets team.
Denard Robinson has been a fantasy surprise for owners this season and he has emerged as one of the best offensive options for the Jaguars this season. Robinson had a breakout game a couple weeks ago for the Jags and now he has put together back to back 100-yard games and could be a legit RB2 starter for fantasy owners the rest of the season. Robinson had 127 yards against the Browns and he had 108 yards against the Dolphins last week and now he has the Bengals as his next matchup. After the way he has played, Robinson is worth a START as long as no other top RB1 backs are on the roster.
Andre Ellington has been dealing with a foot injury on and off for the majority of this season and so far it has not kept him from playing for the Cardinals. Ellington was limited in practice earlier this week, but he is set to START on Sunday against the Cowboys and while that is a tough matchup, he should be in the lineup for owners. Ellington has been excellent rushing the ball and catching passes and he now has 393 yards and a touchdown along with 25 receptions for 260 yards and all this comes without him missing any time for injuries.
Charles has been a fantasy stud this season and he had over 100 total yards last week along with two touchdowns in the win for the Chiefs. Charles led the team with 73 yards on the ground and he also had four catches in the game for 44 yards and he now has two multi-touchdown games this season and four rushing TDs. The Chiefs offense runs through Charles and they likely will give him the ball quite a bit this Sunday against the Jets.
