Houston Texans Rumors: Arian Foster Fantasy Starter Option With Andre Johnson Week 9 After Missing Practice

Oct 31, 2014 10:53 AM EDT

The Houston Texans have both Arian Foster and Andre Johnson coming into the Week 9 game a bit banged up and while they missed practice on Wednesday, both players are expected to start and fantasy football owners should feel good about playing them against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Foster has been one of the best players in the league this season and after being injured and missing most of last year, he has missed just one game this season. According to Pro Football Talk, Foster is dealing with a knee issue, but it's nothing serious and there is no reason to think he will not start on Sunday. Foster had one of his best games of the season on Sunday, scoring three touchdowns in the win over the Titans and that marked the sixth game where he has gone over 100 yards.

Foster had 151 yards on 20 carries and also added four catches against the Titans and that came after he had 102 yards against the Steelers on Monday night the week before. Andre Johnson comes in after dealing with an ankle injury and that is also not considered serious and he is likely to start on Sunday for fantasy owners. Johnson led the team in targets last week with 12 looks from Ryan Fitzpatrick and he had 55 yards in the game and it looks like Johnson has the chance to breakout this week for owners.

Foster could end up as the best fantasy football option this week over anyone else, as rushing leader DeMarco Murray is playing a top defense with the Arizona Cardinals. Foster has been as consistent as anyone this season and he now has 766 yards on the season and seven touchdowns in seven games and he also has added 24 receptions for 166 yards and two TDs on the season. Last year Foster player in just eight games and he is already closing in on that and has bested his numbers overall from last season.

Johnson is a bit banged up, but barring any setbacks he will be in the starting lineup on Sunday. Johnson had a fantastic season last year despite the Texans going just 1-15 and he is in line for another good year with 46 catches for 551 yards this year. Johnson has only been into the endzone once, but against a porous defense like the Eagles that could change and he will be the main target for Ryan Fitzpatrick along with DeAndre Hopkins.

Last season Johnson had 109 catches for 1407 yards and five scores and he put up similar numbers the year before. Johnson had 112 catches for 1598 yards that season and those were some of the best of his entire career and now both Foster and Johnson will be looking to have big performances this week. Foster is picking up where he left off two years ago, as he had 1411 yards the year before he was injured and that was his third straight season with at least 1200 yards and double digit touchdowns and he is on his way to getting that once again.
