Manchester City star David Silva will be out with a knee injury for the Manchester Derby clash with Man United on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium and the injury could keep him on the sidelines for a few weeks and that is a big loss for Manuel Pellegrini's side as they come into this rivalry matchup on the Premier League schedule this season.
According to the BBC, Silva could be sidelined for at least three weeks and it comes after the loss in the League Cup to Newcastle United. Silva injured his knee in the 2-0 loss in that match and now Pellegrini will have to deal with him being out of the lineup for some very important games for Man City. The football boss said that it will be at least three weeks and it helps that Yaya Toure is set to be back in the starting lineup.
Man City is looking to bounce back after losing their last Premier League match and that was a 2-1 loss against West Ham last weekend. Manchester City comes into the weekend at third on the English Premier League table and they are behind Southampton and Chelsea in the standings. The team is six back on Chelsea coming in and they are the defending champions and so far this season it has been hard to sustain a consistent attack.
Chelsea comes into things at first on the league standings and they have 23 points, while Southampton is second with 19 points. Man City is in third place with 17 points.
"Maybe he (Silva) will be out for three weeks so he will not be available," said manager Manuel Pellegrini.
