The Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets are playing live on the NHL schedule on Friday night on Halloween and the game is from Nationwide Arena and starts up past 7 pm ET as the team from Canada comes South and the matchup has teams with nine and eight points and has the Leafs looking to get another win after a victory against the Sabres.
Jonathan Bernier had 10 saves in the game against the Sabres and that ended up as an easy win for the team and now they have the Jackets. The Leafs next play an Original Six foe, as they have the Blackhawks and that game will be back home in Toronto. The team comes in ranked in the top half of the league through the first couple weeks in goals scored per game and they are in the top 10 in penalty kill percentage at ninth.
The Leafs are currently sixth in the Atlantic division and Phil Kessel has been off to a hot start and he is leading the team in goals and points and they have the Jackets at the right time. The team has allowed 18 goals in the last four games and they could be ripe to get scored on by Kessel and company and the Leafs will have that on their minds when they take the ice.
The Blue Jackets come into the game after losing 5-2 against the Senators and that was at home and now they will play the Leafs before a matchup with the Devils. The Jackets have eight points on the season and a 4-5-0 record and Ryan Johansen has been the leader in points thus far and he has been playing well to open things up.
